Canadian Ski Patrol SKI SWAP @ Campbell

Bring us your new or used snowboards, cross country or downhill ski equipment and we will sell it for you at a commission. 

Equipment Registration:  Friday,Nov 2nd 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Sale:  Saturday, November 3rd 9:00 to 4:00 p.m.

 

Remembrance Day

Our service will be held on Friday, November 9th.  Students will receive a poppy that morning from their first period teacher.   Donations of your spare change to your CAP teachers in the days leading up to the service would be appreciated.

 

SPORTS

 

Volleyball

The senior boys’ volleyball team will be playing in the city quarter finals Monday, November 5th at 7:30 at Campbell. Come and pack the stands!

 

Curling

There will be a short meeting in Room 306 TODAY at 12:05 to share important information for curling this year.   Attendance is mandatory.

 

GUIDANCE

 

 

University of Saskatchewan – What is Engineering?  Friday, November 16th – This is a free event for prospective students to learn more about what an engineering career looks like through:

-        Hands on activities

-        Tours of labs and facilities

-        Discussions with current engineering students

 

This event features a special parent and counsellor information session hosted by the Associate Dean Academic and the Dean of the College of Engineering.  If you have questions, please contact the Engineering Student Centre at 306-966-5274 or esc@usask.ca

 

Women in Technology Workshop:

Civil Engineering Technology Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Moose Jaw Campus – This hands on one day workshop is designed for women 15 years of age and up who are interested in exploring careers in Water Resources or Civil Engineering Technology.  Course dates: Saturday, November 24th, Course code: CEXP-1616-1.  Cost:  $20 (Lunch provided)  For more information contact:  Michelle Lanoie at 306-775-7503 or michelle.lanoie@saskpolytech.ca.  Register by Nov 9th at saskpolytech.ca/WITT

 

House of Commons Page Program - You could be awarded a one-year work contract as a Page to work in the House of Commons beginning in late August 2019.  To be eligible to apply you must be a grade 12 student with a minimum average of 80% and can speak both official languages.  Successful candidates must also be accepted in a full-time program at one of the universities in the Ottawa area.  Applications must be submitted online using the form provided on the website.  See the poster on the Guidance bulletin board in the hallway near the Guidance office for more information.  The deadline to apply is December 3, 2018. 


SCHULICH LEADER SCHOLARSHIP

Campbell Collegiate will be submitting a nominee to apply for the Shulich Leader Scholarships.  The Schulich Leader Scholarships are the largest and most prestigious undergraduate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) scholarships in Canada, with a value of up to $100,000 each.  Students are invited to apply for nomination at the guidance office by submitting their resume along with a cover letter stating how they might fit the following criteria; Graduate high school in the 2018/2019 academic year. Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Plan to enroll in STEM at one of the partner universities (see Guidance or one of the posters for the list of universities).  Meet at least two of the following criteria: Academic excellence, Leadership (community, business or entrepreneurial), Financial need, not planning a career as a medical practitioner.  The deadline to submit your application is December 21, 2018.
