Greetings All!
As the Spring Concert Season is here, we have some very important reminders and revisions regarding upcoming events to share with our Campbell Music Family! We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events starting this week!
 
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BELOW BEFORE OPENING THE ATTACHMENTS:
 

1.  CAMPBELL SPRING MUSIC CONCERTS THIS WEEK!
TUESDAY MAY 15 – All Grade 9 & 10 Bands and Choirs & Chamber Choir
WEDNESDAY MAY 16 – All Grade 11 & 12 Bands, Choirs, Chamber Choir and String Orchestra
Campbell Auditorium – 7PM
Please find attached the stage plan for our spring concerts this week.  Please read it carefully and note the arrival times for dress rehearsal.  The first rehearsal begins at 5PM on Tuesday evening.
 

2.  MEMORIAL CUP OPENING CEREMONY – A CENTENNIAL SALUTE! THIS WEEK
REHEARSALS @ MOSAIC STADIUM – WEDNESDAY, MAY 16 & THURSDAY, MAY 17
PERFORMANCE @ MOSAIC STADIUM – THURSDAY, MAY 17
The Campbell Chamber Choir & Grade 12 Choral Students have been invited to perform at this very special event celebrating the opening of the Memorial Cup @ Mosaic Stadium followed by the Eagles Concert.  Please find attached the Memorial Cup information sheet that was distributed to all participants.
 

3.  CAMPBELL WATER WALK – FRIDAY, MAY 25
PERFORMANCES @ THE BAND STAND IN WASCANA PARK – 1-3PM
The Campbell Jazz Bands and Choirs will be performing at the Band Stand in Wascana Park in support of Campbell Collegiate's Global Initiative to raise funds to build two water filtration units for a community in Rural Ecuador.  All Campbell students will be participating in the Water Walk which will feature activities around Wascana Lake. The event is designed to raise awareness of the need for clean water and sanitation in communities both in Canada and around the world.  Music families are welcome to join us at Wascana Park for this wonderful event.
 

4.  CAMPBELL SPRING CHORAL CELEBRATION – SUNDAY, MAY 27
Westminster United Church – 7PM
Admission by Donation
Please find attached the stage plan for our Spring Choral Celebration featuring the Grade 9 Choir and Chamber Choir in the beautiful acoustic setting of Westminster United Church.   The evening is also a celebration of our graduates, parent volunteers and staff who are leaving us.  All Campbell Music Families are invited to share this wonderful evening!
 

5.  SWING INTO SPRING JAZZ CONCERT & SILENT AUCTION – FRIDAY, JUNE 1
Living Hope Alliance Church – 7PM
This concert and major fundraiser for the Campbell Music Program will feature all of the Campbell Jazz Ensembles.   Please be watching for a separate email with important Swing Into Spring Information regarding admission costs and stage plan.
 

6.  CAMPBELL WIND ENSEMBLE CONCERT – THURSDAY, JUNE 7
Campbell Collegiate – 7PM
Admission by Donation
The Wind Ensemble Concert will feature our Campbell Wind Ensemble with special guests the Campbell Area Junior Winds. Detailed information about this event will be distributed to all participants.  All music families are invited to attend this great evening of Concert Band music!
 

7.  CAMPBELL STRING ORCHESTRA CONCERT – TUESDAY, JUNE 12
Campbell Collegiate– 7PM
Admission by Donation
Our major orchestra concert and final concert of the Campbell music season features our Campbell String Orchestra, the Campbell Orchestra, along with invited soloists and small ensembles in a beautiful acoustic setting. Detailed information about this event will be distributed to all participants.  All members of the Campbell Music Family are invited to this great evening!

Swing into Spring 2018 Fundraiser and Performance

Performances start at 7:00 pm

 

This event is for everyone, not just jazz students, and it is the main CAMPA fundraiser of the school year, so all students in the music program benefit from this fun event.

Stage Plan and Dress Rehearsal Information for Christmas Concert @ First Nation's University - Sunday, December 10

Greetings Campbell Choral and String Orchestra Parents and Students,

Please find attached and below the revised stage plan and dress rehearsal information for our upcoming Christmas Concert at First Nation’s University this Sunday, December 10 @ 3PM & 7PM.

A hard copy of an earlier version of the stage plan has already been distributed to all choral students.

Please read the document carefully and kindly follow the uniform expectations clearly.  As well – please ensure your child brings a full water bottle with their name on it.

Be sure to bring your family and friends to this wonderful concert that has become a holiday tradition for our entire Campbell Music Community!

Re:    Dress Rehearsal and Christmas Concert Stage Plan and Information

FIRST NATION'S CHRISTMAS CONCERTS:

When: Sunday, December 10
Where: First Nations University
1 First Nations Way at the University of Regina

 

Dress Rehearsal Begins: 1PM (arrive at 12:45pm)
Afternoon Concert Begins: 3PM (ending at approx. 4:30pm)
Evening Concert Begins: 7PM (student call and doors open- 6:30pm)

 

DRESS REHEARSAL TIMES!!!! 
ALL STUDENTS MUST BE ON TIME FOR DRESS REHEARSAL!!!  To make the best use of our time and to avoid congestion in certain areas, we will use the following warm up schedule.  As we have a small amount of time, plan ahead so that you have enough time to park and be on time! 

Important: Be sure to bring your own water bottle with your name on it….
12:00pm All Facility Managers arrive for set up
12:45pm Intermediate/Senior Voices/Chamber Choir  arrive
put coats and belongings in green room
1:00pm Intermediate/Senior Voices/Chamber Choir rehearse in Foyer
1:15pm String Orchestra Arrives - put coats and belongings in green room and set up
1:30pm String Orchestra and Intermediate/Senior Voices rehearse "Hallelujah Chorus" in Foyer
Grade 9 Voices arrive - put coats and belongings in green room
1:45pm Grade 9 Voices rehearse in foyer
2:00pm Grade 9 Voices/Intermediate/Senior Voices rehearse Slient Night and the Gift in Foyer
2:30pm Chamber Choir rehearse remaining repertoire in Green Room
2:45pm All participants move to performance area

CONCERT UNIFORM 

Grade 9: Black Dress Pants Black Socks, Black Dress Shoes,
Campbell Music T-Shirt
Senior Women: Black Uniform Dress, Green Scarf, black nylons
low-heeled (1 inch) closed toe dress shoes
Please wear appropriate undergarments – no sports bras!
Senior Men: Black long-sleeved collared dress shirt, Black dress pants,
Black socks, Black dress shoes
Grey Vest and Black Campbell Music Tie
NO JEANS, CASUAL PANTS OR RUNNING SHOES!

All hair must be tied back from the face
Please do not wear visible jewellery (watche’s, large necklaces, ear-rings etc….

 

CONCERT ETIQUETTE
It is very important that all students be absolutely silent when changing over the groups in the middle of the concert! There is to be no talking during each of the performances, and students are not to leave the Auditorium during the performances!!
All students are to be in the foyer to watch each group perform.  Ensembles will be positioned in a circle around the audience.

CLEAN-UP RESPONSIBILITIES
ALL students are responsible for assisting with the cleanup after the concert.
Things to Do:
All chairs in foyer stacked
All Choir risers folded and  put in loading dock
All warm-up areas clean and returned to proper condition.

CONCERT ETIQUETTE

It is very important that all music students be absolutely silent when changing over the groups in the middle of the concert! All students are to be in the auditorium to watch each group perform until the end of the concerts. Seats will be reserved for each concert group at the front of the auditorium.


IMPORTANT INFO FOR BAND STUDENTS!

Students with medium and small instruments will hold their instruments and music at their assigned seating spot before and after they have performed. Tuba, Euphonium, Baritone Sax, and Bass Clarinet players will place their instruments at the assigned spots at the side of the auditorium. Bands will have assigned seating in front of the band set-up, Choirs will have assigned seating in front of the choir set-up!
ABSOLUTELY NO STUDENTS ARE TO BE IN THE HALLS BEFORE OR DURING THE PERFORMANCE!!!
