Welcome to the Campbel Music Home page. The Music side bar on the left has links to information including the Calendar of Musical Events schedule for the entire school year. 

The Campbell Area Music Parents Association (CAMPA) Information and Fundraising web site is www.campa.ca where you can make tour payments online and find fundraising information for the Campbell Music Program. Also see our list of other web sites and join the CAMPA facebook page to receive posts as information is added.

Below you will see the Music Department blog with up to date information on upcoming musical events, concerts and trips.

University of Regina Opportunities for 2017 Graduates

Dear Graduating Student,

 

Congratulations on your upcoming high school graduation!

 

We know how much time, effort, and passion you have put into your instrument and/or voice, playing in Band and/or singing in Choir throughout elementary and high school.  We at the University of Regina Department of Music want you to keep the benefits of music in your life; studies continually show the tremendous positive effects of group music making.  Joyful music making is essential for a balanced and happy life!

 

If you are coming to study at the U of R, please consider our numerous opportunities to continue in our Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Orchestra, Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Jazz Band, and New Music Ensemble. All are welcome, whether you are studying here, or are a community member driving in for rehearsals.

The Prairielands Jazz Camp is celebrating 25 years of providing jazz education for students.

This year boasts a great jazz staff.

The dates of camp are July 9 - 15th.

If you have a student that has never attended jazz camp there are some limited scholarships available for those students that have never attended before.

CAMPBELL CHORAL CELEBRATION – SUNDAY, MAY 28 – 7PM @ WESTMINSTER UNITED CHURCH - 3025 13th Avenue!

We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Choral Celebration this Sunday! This concert – featuring our Grade 9 Choir and Chamber Choir is one of the major highlights of our choral concert season! 
Bring your family and friends to hear great choral music in a beautiful acoustic setting!

Greetings All!

As the Spring Concert Season is here, we have some very important reminders and revisions regarding upcoming to share with our Campbell Music Family!   We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events starting this week!

 

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE EMAIL BELOW BEFORE OPENING THE ATTACHMENTS:

 

1.  CAMPBELL SPRING MUSIC CONCERTS THIS WEEK!

TUESDAY MAY 16 – All Grade 9 & 10 Bands and Choirs & Chamber Choir

WEDNESDAY MAY 17 – All Grade 11 & 12 Bands, Choirs, Chamber Choir and String Orchestra

Campbell Auditorium – 7PM

Please find attached the stage plan for our spring concerts this week.  Please read it carefully and note the arrival times for dress rehearsal.  The first rehearsal begins at 5PM each evening.

 

2.  CAMPBELL SPRING CHORAL CELEBRATION – SUNDAY, MAY 28

Westminster United Church – 7PM

Admission by Donation

Please find attached the stage plan for our Spring Choral Celebration featuring the Grade 9 Choir and Chamber Choir in the beautiful acoustic setting of Westminster United Church.   The evening is also a celebration of our graduates, parent volunteers and staff who are leaving us.  All Campbell Music Families are invited to share this wonderful evening!

 

3.  TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION CELEBRATION – WEDNESDAY, MAY 31

Campbell Collegiate – 7PM

The Campbell Truth and Reconcilitation Commiittee has asked the Senior Choral Students to perform at this very special fundraising event featuring First Nation’s artists and performers.

  

4.  SWING INTO SPRING JAZZ CONCERT & SILENT AUCTION

FRIDAY, JUNE 2

Living Hope Alliance Church – 7PM

This concert and major fundraiser for the Campbell Music Program will feature all of the Campbell Jazz Ensembles.   Please be watching for a separate email with important Swing Into Spring Information regarding admission costs and stage plan.

 

5.  CAMPBELL WIND ENSEMBLE CONCERT – THURSDAY, JUNE 8

Campbell Collegiate – 7PM

Admission by Donation

The Wind Ensemble Concert will feature our Campbell Wind Ensemble with special guests the Campbell Area Junior Winds.  All music families are invited!

 

6.  CAMPBELL STRING ORCHESTRA CONCERT – MONDAY, JUNE 12

Campbell Collegiate– 7PM

Admission by Donation

Our major orchestra concert and final concert of the Campbell music season features our Campbell String Orchestra, the Campbell Orchestra, along with invited soloists and small ensembles in a beautiful acoustic setting.  All members of the Campbell Music Family are invited to this great evening!

Swing Into Spring - Friday June 2, 2017

Swing into Spring is CAMPA’s largest fundraiser
to support ALL STUDENTS in the Campbell Music Program
 
Mark your calendars to attend this event and enjoy some amazing jazz music!
 
FRIDAY, JUNE 2, 2017
7:00 pm
Living Hope Alliance Church - 3900 Arcola Ave. E
FREE Coffee and Desserts
Tickets: $10.00 each

 
There are many ways for all Campbell Music Program families to be involved:
 
Purchase your tickets for friends and family to attend. This event is for everyone, not only jazz students and their families. Tickets are available online or the Campbell Office. 

     6:00 pm Silent Auction bidding begins
     6:30 pm Auditorium doors open – rush seating only
     7:00 pm Performances begin

 
Donate: CAMPA asks each family in the Campbell Area Music Program to donate at least one item for the silent auction at Swing into Spring or make a cash donation (cash donations of $20 or more receive a tax receipt on request).  Suggested donation items include merchandise or services like artwork, books, sporting goods, gift baskets, home décor, music or clothing. Gift certificates also make great auction items. Please fill out a donation form and bring it in with your items to the Spring Concerts next week.
 
Purchase raffle tickets: Buy your ticket on a 50/50 raffle with a maximum prize value of $2500 if all 1000 tickets are sold.  Tickets are $5 each, available at music concerts and at the Swing into Spring event.
 
Bring dessert: Each jazz student is asked to bring a fruit tray or one dozen dainties (e.g. brownies, bars, etc. uncut and able to eat without a utensil). Please do not bring donuts or cookies. The items can be dropped off at Living Hope Alliance Church any time after 1:00 pm on June 2.

Singing Is Life – Saturday, May 6 2017 (GRADE 9 CHORAL STUDENTS & PARENTS)

The Living Skies Chorus is the Regina Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society and provides a venue for men to participate in and perform four part Barbershop a cappella singing.

The Living Skies Chorus is an extraordinarily generous organization and contributes funds to aid school music programs as well as individual students in their musical pursuits.

The Grade Nine Voices has experienced significant musical growth this year and in recognition of their achievements have been invited to perform in concert with the Living Skies Chorus.

 

It is a privilege and an honour to be invited to perform on their concert “Singing Is Life” on Saturday, May 6, 7:30pm at

Knox-Metropolitan United Church  (Victoria Avenue and Lorne Street)

 

We are asking the choristers to arrive at 6:15pm as we will have an opportunity to rehearse the Mass Ensemble piece which will be performed at the end of the program.

 

Thank you to those of you who have already purchased tickets. Very generously the Living Skies Chorus has granted Campbell Music a portion of the revenue from those tickets that we sell!

 

Please see the attached form and return the ticket order portion. Tickets will be distributed on Thursday in Choral class.
