Singing Is Life – Saturday, May 6 2017 (GRADE 9 CHORAL STUDENTS & PARENTS)

Posted in

The Living Skies Chorus is the Regina Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society and provides a venue for men to participate in and perform four part Barbershop a cappella singing.

The Living Skies Chorus is an extraordinarily generous organization and contributes funds to aid school music programs as well as individual students in their musical pursuits.

The Grade Nine Voices has experienced significant musical growth this year and in recognition of their achievements have been invited to perform in concert with the Living Skies Chorus.

It is a privilege and an honour to be invited to perform on their concert “Singing Is Life” on Saturday, May 6, 7:30pm at

Knox-Metropolitan United Church  (Victoria Avenue and Lorne Street)

We are asking the choristers to arrive at 6:15pm as we will have an opportunity to rehearse the Mass Ensemble piece which will be performed at the end of the program.

Thank you to those of you who have already purchased tickets. Very generously the Living Skies Chorus has granted Campbell Music a portion of the revenue from those tickets that we sell!

Please see the attached form and return the ticket order portion. Tickets will be distributed on Thursday in Choral class.

Thank you for all your support!

Sincerely,

 Your Campbell Music Team

Uniform Care and Cleaning

Posted in

Greetings!

Notice to all music students regarding uniforms.

As you prepare for tours and concerts this spring, your uniform may need some refreshing.

Please remember that the men’s vests are NOT WASHABLE. Keep them on a hanger to air out, or have them dry-cleaned if they are dirty. Some of the men have lost a button from their vests. Please check your vests. Replace any missing buttons (there is a spare one on the inside of the vest) and secure the others.

Ties and women’s scarves may be hand washed and hung to dry if needed.

Dress pants, dress shirts and Grade 9 T-shirts should be laundered according to the label.

Dresses can be machine washed on a gentle cycle and dried on a low setting. Please check the shoulder loops that hold your scarf in place. Some have torn and been repaired with safety pins. Also check your hems and make the necessary repairs so that your dress is in good shape again.

Remember that all students must wear black socks/tights for all performances. For tours it is best to pack 2 or 3 pairs of black socks/tights.

Men and women, if you have long hair be sure to have enough hair ties/pins to keep your hair off of your face.

For your tour (or anytime you need to transport your uniform) hang your dress/shirt/pants/vest on a hanger in your new Campbell Music garment bag with your name on it. Include your black shoes, socks, tie, scarf, belt and other uniform accessories in the garment bag. Consider placing small items in a grocery bag hanging from the hanger and shoes in a separate plastic bag at the bottom of the garment bag.

More details will come from your teachers regarding packing for tours

Keep up the good work Campbell music students! You look and sound wonderful!

Sincerely,

Your Campbell Music Team
